Who We Are:

Dicot Designs is a custom van building studio in Boulder, Colorado. We build fully custom Mercedes Sprinter conversions that blend rugged capability with refined, bespoke interiors. Our clients aren't buying a preset package; they're getting a van built around their lifestyle and personality. Every detail in every van reflects this principle.

We are a small, tight-knit team, dedicated to building the highest quality adventure vehicles. We are not a production facility - we only work on two builds at once, with no intention to grow to be a large scale operation. Our growth aspiration is solely dedicated to the vehicles we design and build - not how many vans we build a year, or how quickly we can get them done.

The Role:

Dicot Designs is growing and looking for a skilled van builder to join the team. Our builds are high-complexity, high-touch custom projects. We are not a shop that looks to turn around a build in record time or have you simply specialize in one specific aspect of the build, such as electrical or cabinetry. The person we are looking for would see an entire van from start to completion, taking immense pride in their work as they build an entirely custom van for our incredible clients.

As a smaller, custom shop, every day is different. Adaptability and a deep passion for your craft are imperative. You'll be a crucial part of our small team, working on every aspect of a build. Some days that means electrical installations, some days that means upholstery, some days that means suspension work.

Responsibilities:

• Build custom vans from the ground up including framing, insulation, upholstery, exterior modifications, cabinetry, lighting, and more

• Build and assemble custom cabinetry and storage solutions 

• Upholster various products for installation in vans

• 24v/12v electrical system installations with Victron and Garmin components

• Water system installation with general plumbing, gray water systems, fresh water, and shower setups

• Installation of Rixens hydronic heating systems, air conditioning units, and more

• Exterior modification installations including roof racks, lighting, bumpers, rear carriers, windows, flares and more

• In a tight-knit environment, provide various ideas and solutions to constantly improve the operational workflow of the company

• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment

• Occasionally run various errands as needed

• An eye for detail and an eagerness to learn and continue growing as a craftsperson

Required Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in van building in a professional environment

• Strong knowledge across multiple power tools and how to correctly and safely use them

• Familiarity with van systems like electrical, plumbing, cabinetry and more

• Woodworking and cabinetry experience

• Working knowledge of 12V electrical systems 

• An understanding of the Mercedes Sprinter chassis and components

• Experience with van water system design and plumbing parts

• Experience installing exterior products such as roof racks, lighting, bumpers and more

Preferred Experience:

• Experience installing hydronic and other van heating systems

• Experience installing HVAC systems such as CruiseNComfort air conditioning systems

• Experience installing van electrical systems, such as Victron and Garmin components

• Experience upholstering panels and trim components to produce an expert build

• Suspension install experience for various types of suspension systems and upgrades

Compensation and benefits:

• Salary: $62,000-$76,000 commensurate with experience

• Full-time, on-site in Boulder, CO

• Minimum 12 days of PTO required for all full time employees with unlimited PTO offered

• All national bank holidays observed
